A Maidenhead building could soon become a multiple-occupancy home with 10 bedrooms under plans submitted to the council.

The property on Furze Platt Road would receive a double-storey rear and side extension under the plans to change it into an HMO (house of multiple occupation).

The design and access statement reads: “The property is located on Furze Platt Road and is a minute walk to its adjacent streets, Switchback Road, Deans field Close and St Peter’s Road.

“The existing structure on the site is a Ground Floor as an Off License Store and first Floor as Residential.”

Each of the ten bedrooms would have an ensuite, and a kitchen would be available on the building’s ground floor.

Two of the bedrooms would be on the ground floor, while the remaining eight would be upstairs on the first floor.

Regarding the ground floor space, the statement adds: “The bedrooms are located in front of the hallway, on the end is the Living, Kitchen and Dining area opening up outside into the common garden.

“All of the spaces have been arranged in a way that there is sufficient lighting and ventilation on all of the spaces.”

Secure bike storage is also planned as part of the development, while waste and recycling collections are proposed to be made from the side of the property.
