A Slough nursery has been handed two awards for its use of sustainable travel.
Slough Centre Nursery School, located in Buckingham Avenue has been handed the Modeshift STARS Early Years & Regional Awards School Travel of the year 2023-24.
The 'outstanding' rated nursery has previously received praise from Ofsted who commented on the "highly experienced" team for their commitment to ensuring the school continues to flourish.
"Yours is a very nurturing and caring school," Ofsted added, with all parents stating they would recommend the nursery.
Now the nursery has expressed its pride in being handed the awards.
A spokesperson from the school said: “We are so proud of all the parents, children and staff who helped us achieve this award.”
Slough Centre Nursery School is one of the oldest nursery schools in the area having first opened in 1937.
The school caters for up to 163 children in total, with many children aged two to four attending on a part-time basis.
Modeshift STARS is a national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting sustainable travel.
The scheme encourages schools across the country to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
Headteacher Aisha Lateef added: "The wonderful Mrs Carroll has worked very hard with our families to achieve this award.
"I would like to thank the team and the families on the achievement."
