Three people have now been arrested after a Sikh man was kicked to the ground in Slough.

At around 7pm on Tuesday, November 21 a man in his fifties was walking through Langley Memorial Park when he was approached by a group of boys who tried to grab his beard.

He was then circled and kicked him to the ground - where he suffered three broken ribs, swelling and cuts. The man required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

Police are treating the incident as a hate crime and are continuing to investigate the attack said to have been committed by teenage boys between the ages of 13 and 16.

On December 5 a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and has been bailed until February 15.

A further two arrests have since been made by Thames Valley Police.

A 14-year-old boy from Slough was arrested on Saturday, December 9 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 17-year-old boy from Slough was arrested on Monday, December 11 on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Both boys have been released on bail until March 4 next year.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Holly Baxter, based at Slough police station, said: “This is still an active investigation and we are seeking anyone with information to make a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43230524527.”

The Slough temple, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, has previously released a plea on their social media page.

They said: “Singh Sabha Slough Sevadaars have been made aware of an attack on an elderly Sikh man.

“This is a request to anyone with information on this attack to please get in touch with us. We will provide the Sangat with further updates as and when we get them.

“We as a Gurdwara will not tolerate any such attacks on our Sikh community in Slough.”
