Residents have expressed concern over leaflets circulating on a popular bus route.

Leaflets have been seen on bus routes 305 and P1 asking members of the public to "have your say" over bus services between Windsor, Datchet, Wraysbury and Staines in 2024.

Produced by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the leaflet reads: "You are invited to give your feedback on proposed routes for subsidised bus services in the Royal Borough from 2024 to ensure they meet users needs.

"We want to hear route 305 and P1 bus users' views on our proposed future contract for supported bus services in the Windsor, Datchet, Wraysbury and Staines area."

The proposed changes would combine the 305 and P1 bus service into a single route.

Colnbrook and Home Park car park would no longer be served under the proposals due to "low demand".

Residents have shared concerns that Colnbrook residents will be losing vital travel links.

The route would call at

  • Windsor High Street
  • Churchmead School
  • Datchet village centre and GP surgery
  • London Road (Datchet)
  • Welley Road (Sunnymeads)
  • Horton village
  • Coppermill Road (Wraysbury)
  • Wraysbury village centre
  • Hythe End village
  • Staines bus station

It comes as consultations also launch on other bus routes, including Windsor, Clewer Green, Dedworth, Bray and Maidenhead.

Councillor Geoff Hill, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “Our bus contracts are more than five years old, but things have changed significantly since before the pandemic and we have seen a change in passenger behaviour and reduction in people travelling with a bus pass, alongside increased running costs for bus companies and the council.

“We now want residents’ views on the proposed routes for subsidised bus services in the Royal Borough from 2024 to ensure they meet user needs and want to

understand whether there are any additional streets that they believe the routes should specifically connect to.

“Please do take the time to look at the proposed streets carefully that the buses will be serving in our communities and give us your views, or let us know if there any gaps based on your own needs and the places you want to travel to.”
