An Indian takeaway that launched in April has taken home a national award for its food.
Masala Maiden located in Maidenhead has been awarded 'Takeaway of the Year' in the Asian Curry Awards, backed by Just Eat.
More than 1200 guests attended the award ceremony, known as the 'Curry Oscars' at the Grosvenor House in London’s Mayfair on Sunday, November 19.
The evening was hosted by the BBC news anchor Samantha Simmonds, with guest of honour London Mayor Sadiq Khan leading the plaudits.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan, spoke of the important contribution that the Asian catering industry has made to the economy and the cultural significance Asian cuisine has made to our lives for the better.
He said: “Asian cuisine has a very special place in British society.
“I want to commend all the restaurants, chefs and service staff that took part and congratulate the winners.
“These businesses don’t just feed us amazing food, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives and I’m committed to doing everything I can to ensure they continue to thrive, enrich our communities and support our economy as we work together to build a better London for everyone.”
Masala Maiden owner Mohamed Tapader accepted the award for the restaurant and takeaway saying: "I am really proud to say that all credit goes to my local Maidenhead customers and the local people who support us."
On the company's Facebook, he added: "This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our exceptional team and the unwavering support of our beloved customers.
"This recognition is a testament to the passion and commitment that drive us to deliver exceptional service.
"We're overjoyed by this accomplishment and look forward to continuing to serve you with the same enthusiasm and commitment."
