Young people from the Slough Youth Choir have been chosen to represent their town in the 2023 BBC Children in Need Appeal Show.
The Children in Need Choir is made up of some of the best choirs from up and down the country who come together to sing for Children in Need.
This year the BBC has chosen the Slough Community Youth Soul Choir to perform at the 2023 Appeal Show.
Headed by Rebecca Richardson, who has been a youth worker in Slough for 24 years and is now head of Slough Music Services, the choir is made up of talented and enthusiastic members of the Slough community.
The Slough choir has been recognised as one of the best soul choirs in Berkshire over the years with Richardson at its helm.
She said: “The choir is made up of young people aged 6 to 16. I am truly privileged to be able to lead such an amazing choir.
“I am so happy that I can provide these kinds of opportunities to kids who may never have had the chance overwise.
“It is very exciting.”
The young people will be singing 'You Raise Me Up' in a performance which will be filmed in Slough.
The Slough choir amazed audiences in October 2021 when they were chosen to perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Music for Youth Proms.
