A popular local bank is to be shuttered tomorrow after a fall in regular customers.
Lloyds, situated on Buckingham Avenue, will close on Thursday, October 5, in line with a spate of other bank closures that have cited the move to digital banking as their reason for closing.
A spokesperson for Lloyds bank said: "The world is becoming more digital than ever before and more of our customers are doing their everyday banking online.
"With more customers choosing to use digital ways to bank and manage their money, visits at this branch have fallen.
"We also have another branch nearby. As a result, we've made the difficult decision to close it."
According to Lloyds, the bank on Buckingham Avenue is visited by 132 regular customers, the majority of which are above the age of 35 and 33 per cent of which are over 55.
For those still wishing to bank in-store, it will mean that the closest Lloyds bank for residents will be situated on Slough High Street or in Maidenhead.
In the bank closure report, it states that "a small number of customers told us they were disappointed about the closure decision".
Lloyds has advised customers that they can also choose to bank at the Post Office - where they can pay in cheques and cash, make deposits, pay bills and make withdrawals.
