A Section 60 stop and search order has been extended for a fourth day after a series of incidents over the weekend.

Thames Valley Police first issued a Section 60 order on Thursday, September 21, with a further order being issued on Sunday, September 24.

It follows a stabbing of a man inside a property in Odencroft Road at about 11am on Saturday, September 23. The man was treated at hospital but has since been discharged.

A second incident was later reported to police of a man seen with a knife in Bath Road at about 5pm on Saturday. Police officers attended the scene and seized a knife.

A final incident occurred on Sunday, September 24 in Stoke Road at 2.50pm, when a man was stabbed.

Thames Valley Police have since released a statement of reassurance to the community.

Superintendent Lee Barnham, Local Policing Area Commander for Slough, said: “I recognise the impact these recent incidents will have on communities across the town. We are committed to ending violence in Slough and will arrest and prosecute anyone in possession of a weapon.

“Our communities play a vital role in our efforts to proactively tackle violence within Slough. We need information about people carrying knives in the area. If anyone has information about knives or violence in Slough, please report it to us via 101, or by going online.

At 12:53pm on Wednesday, September 27, Thames Valley Police said: "The Section 60 order in place across the town has been extended for an additional 24 hours.

"An increased police presence remains, so please speak to one of our officers with any concerns or information you have.

"In addition to police activity like a Section 60, communities also play a vital role in our efforts to proactively tackle violence in Slough by sharing any information you may have.

"The order remains in place until midday tomorrow (September 28)."
