A Section 60 stop and search order has been extended for a third day after a series of incidents over the weekend.

Thames Valley Police first issued a Section 60 order on Thursday, September 21, with a further order being issued on Sunday, September 24. 

It follows a stabbing of a man inside a property in Odencroft Road at about 11am on Saturday, September 23. The man was treated at hospital but has since been discharged.

A second incident was later reported to police of a man seen with a knife in Bath Road at about 5pm on Saturday. Police officers attended the scene and seized a knife.

A final incident occurred on Sunday, September 24 in Stoke Road at 2.50pm, when a man was stabbed.

Thames Valley Police have since released a statement of reassurance to the community.

Superintendent Lee Barnham, Local Policing Area Commander for Slough, said: “I recognise the impact these recent incidents will have on communities across the town. We are committed to ending violence in Slough and will arrest and prosecute anyone in possession of a weapon.

“Our communities play a vital role in our efforts to proactively tackle violence within Slough. We need information about people carrying knives in the area. If anyone has information about knives or violence in Slough, please report it to us via 101, or by going online.

At 2pm on Tuesday, September 26, Thames Valley Police said: "A Section 60 remains in place across Slough.

"The order temporarily allows police officers greater powers to stop and search in a defined location and will be in place until midday tomorrow (September 27).

"If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our officers."
