A man claiming to be a police officer has allegedly asked an elderly couple to withdraw money.
Thames Valley Police have made arrested an individual on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
It follows an incident on September 13 where a man, aged 25 from West London, approached an elderly couple in Maidenhead.
He reportedly claimed to be a police officer and attempted to get an elderly couple to withdraw money from their account.
The man has since been bailed while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Duncan Wynn of the Central Fraud Unit said: “We are investigating this incident, a man has been arrested and has been bailed while further enquiries are conducted.
“We are aware that fraudsters are using a variety of methods in order to try and obtain cash from unsuspecting victims, and will be very convincing.
“Neither the police nor your bank, will never ever ask you to provide PIN numbers, send couriers to collect bank cards; phones or valuables, or ask you to withdraw or transfer money.
“If you receive any suspicious calls, purporting to be from the police or your bank, concerning your accounts, we advise people to disconnect the call completely and contact their bank via their usual communication method or the number on the back of their bank card."
