AN investigation has been launched after a man was found dead next to a disposable BBQ inside his bedroom.
Gurnam Singh died at his home address in Richmond Crescent, Slough on January 31 at the age of 59.
An inquest opening at Berkshire Coroner’s Court on Tuesday (September 19) heard that Mr Singh’s medical cause of death is carbon monoxide poisoning and ischemic heart disease after a post-mortem examination was performed.

Assistant coroner Ian Wade KC told the hearing that Mr Singh had missed some payments to his landlord leading to the discovery of his body.
He said: “The landlord had no choice but to seek his eviction. There was no response when the landlord tried to knock on the door or telephone so in due course the landlord felt obliged to force entry.
“Mr Singh was found unresponsive on the bedroom floor. Also found on the floor was a disposable BBQ.”
The circumstances surrounding Mr Singh’s death are still unknown, meaning an investigation and a full inquest is needed to establish what happened.
“It appears his death was unnatural,” concluded Mr Wade.

A full inquest will take place at the same court but a date for this has not yet been determined.
