A wife has paid tribute to her husband of 60 years who died from suspected asbestos exposure.
Gordon Gibbons, from Colnbrook, died on November 4, 2022, less than two months after celebrating more than six decades of marriage.
He passed away aged 86 at his home in Crown Meadow with his wife by his side.
Paying tribute, Jill said: "Gordon was a lovely man who would do anything for anyone if he could and will be greatly missed by all his friends and family, but mostly by me as we had been married 60 years last September 8."
An inquest was opened on Tuesday, August 15, at Berkshire Coroners' Court to help establish the cause of his death.
Coroner Alison McCormick said: “His cause of death has been given as metastatic mesothelioma.
“On the basis that it’s associated with asbestos exposure, it’s going to be necessary to have an inquest into his death.”
- In the Slough Observer edition published on Friday, August 18, an article reported that Gordon Gibbons had passed away at a hospice in Colnbrook. This was incorrect, the place of death was at his home in Crown Meadow. We apologise unreservedly for this error.
