A drinks business has taken over one of the most unique buildings in Windsor’s town centre.
The Shambles Bar serving alcoholic drinks has opened in the iconic Crooked House in the High Street, with the owners applying to paint its unique shopfront.
In Slough, a landowner has applied to complete demolition works at a huge building site, and a new home could be built next to an existing house in Cippenham.

More demolition and prep works at big building site (P/00072/128)
The Equinix data company has applied to continue demolition and site preparation works at the former AkzoNobel site east of Wexham Road.
The project involves demolition of the remaining buildings on the site, including a main office and ancillary buildings, conducting groundworks and installing a development platform to facilitate construction work.
Equinix has outline approval to build a data centre on the site, with the rest of it being turned over to a developer to build 1,000 homes (application reference P/00072/096.
AkzoNobel has consolidated its Slough operations over the road.
New home plan in Cippenham (P/16797/005)
A homeowner has applied to build an additional house next to their home in St Andrew’s Way, Cippenham. The land is currently used as parking spaces.
According to the plan, this land would be replaced with a two-storey, two bedroom home.
An existing outbuilding on the site would be retained.

The Crooked House of Windsor has been taken over by The Shambles Bar which opened in May.
Now, the business wants to paint part of the building green, with a ‘Market Cross House’ sign being retained.
The Shambles Bar has also applied for internal alterations to facilitate its use as a bar, with plans showing a bottle shop, bar and seating at the ground floor, more seating at the first floor and toilets and seating on the second floor.
The Crooked House used to be occupied by The Jersey Pearl jewellers.
Conversion of closed pub into house (23/01505/FULL)
The Black Boys Inn in Henley Road, Hurley could be converted into a house.
The pub has had a troubled recent history. It closed in 2019 due to poor sales, but reopened at some point in 2021.
A bid to host summer events attracted controversy but was successful, but ultimately the pub is understood to have permanently closed later that year.
A plan has been submitted that would see the living facilities and a one bedroom annexe being provided at ground level, with two bedrooms and further guest facilities being provided upstairs.
