A local leisure centre has marked its fifth anniversary.
Langley Leisure Centre, on Parlaunt Road, has seen visitor numbers rising, having welcomed more than 1.6 million people through its doors since it was refurbished.
The Leisure Centre was first built in 1997. After closing in 2017 for a year-long refurbishment, the brand-new centre opened its doors in June 2018.
It was at this time that Everyone Active began managing the site, in partnership with Slough Borough Council.
A spokesperson from Everyone Active said the centre has been a "widespread success" since its reopening, with membership numbers "soaring". As of June 2023, membership figures are 70 per cent higher than pre-Covid levels.
Everyone Active's contract manager, Luke Routhorn, added: "Langley Leisure Centre has gone from strength to strength and now welcomes more than 35,000 visitors each month.
"We’ve got exciting plans in December to enhance our fitness offering and look forward to sharing more detail in due course."
In 2018, more than £55 million was invested by the council to regenerate leisure facilities across Slough.
The extensive work at Langley included a single-storey gym extension, swimming pool maintenance, changing room refurbishment and increased parking capacity.
