A 20-year-old woman from Slough has been crowned Miss Asia GB.

Arya Naik, from Langley, Slough, was born in India and brought up in the UK.

Currently a student at Bournemouth University, Arya is undertaking a degree in Marketing with Public Relations.

On Friday, May 26 at a glamorous pageant at The Courtyard by Marriot London Heathrow Airport she took home multiple crowns.

She won several titles including Miss Popular, Best Catwalk, Best Talent & People’s Choice Award and further went on to win the title of Miss Asia GB 2023.

Arya's dad, Vineet Ashok Naik, said: "It was not an easy path for her to take as her pageant preparation often clashed with her university deadlines, but she persevered, nonetheless."

Attendees of the event reported seeing her hard work through her "passion, determination, confidence, and focus".

Arya's family have praised pageant organiser AGLP Enterprises Ltd for their professional organisation of the event.

Growing up, Arya's family told of how she prospered in academics as well as the arts and sports, among other fields.

She was a "well-rounded" student during her school years and went on to earn accolades such as “Student of the Year” twice, the headteacher’s award, the rising star award and represented her primary school as Head Girl.

It was due to these memorable memories that Arya's family saw her confidence build as she looked to new challenges.

Arya took an interest in the Hindi film industry from a young age and her parents recognised her potential after seeing her ability to pick up choreography quickly from the TV,

She was enrolled in dance classes with well-known Bollywood Choreographer Shiamak Davar at the age of 11.

Soon after she got selected to be part of his 'special potential batch' in his London team, where she trained for several years and had the opportunity to perform at Diwali on Trafalgar Square, Commonwealth Games – Athletes’ homecoming and many more.

Meanwhile, Arya participated in a few modelling projects consisting of commercial, bridal and fashion shows.

She always believed in the saying “If you can dream it, then you can be it”.
