A primary school has said they are 'delighted' after receiving an overwhelmingly positive Ofsted inspection.

Montem Academy, located in Chalvey Grove, Slough, was inspected by Ofsted on February 28 and March 1 this year.

Since November 2016 the school has carried an 'outstanding' rating - the highest that can be rewarded by the education watchdog.

While this year's inspection was ungraded, Ofsted has confirmed the school continues to be 'outstanding'.

In the report, Ofsted described the school as "inspirational".

"Leaders, staff and trustees share exceptional expectations for pupils," it read.

"Relationships are built on strong mutual respect and trust.

"Pupils are joyful. Behaviour is impeccable, and bullying almost never happens."

It went on to say the "extensive" extra-curricular opportunities, including cheerleading, touch-typing and board games, to boccia, cricket, netball and badminton.

"There is a free club for everyone. Leaders are passionate that nobody misses out."

Speaking to parents, Ofsted reported there was a general consensus that the school "goes above and beyond, truly making a difference to the community".

The school ensures children make a "strong start" in early years, working toward learning sounds, mathematical skills and reading with "sustained concentration".

Staff have been described as "caring and knowledgeable" and have a good understanding of safeguarding.

"All staff know and understand procedures for keeping children safe" and "leaders frequently update staff training."

The school has also been praised for its "excellent support" for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

"Leaders assess pupils effectively in order to identify learning needs such as dyslexia," Ofsted said.

"Families are grateful for clear communication about support their children receive.

"Lessons are adapted to help pupils with visual impairment to achieve highly with the help of Braille.

"Smart adaptations ensure that pupils using wheelchairs succeed across the whole curriculum.

"Disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND are highly represented.

"Pupils show respect for differences, celebrating all faiths and types of family throughout the school."

Headteacher Ann Probert has been praised for their "tireless dedication" to improving all aspects of school life.

In a statement to parents Probert they are "delighted" at the report.

"I am so proud of Team Montem for this achievement, which is an absolute reflection of all their hard work and dedication and of our amazing children.

"Thank you also to all the parents and carers who continue to support the school so magnificently.

"I continue to be incredibly proud of our school and community."
