A TEENAGER who has been charged with assisting a murder suspect has been named for the first time after a successful court challenge by the Slough Observer.

Eighteen-year-old Fras Seedahmed, of Surrey Avenue, Slough, has been charged with assisting an offender in connection with the death of Kyron Lee on October 2 last year.

The 18-year-old man's anonymity was previously protected under the Section 45 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 as he was 17 when he was arrested and charged.

However, the teen turned 18 in December ahead of trial at Reading Crown Court due to start on May 30.

The Slough Observer submitted a court challenge to Judge Amjad Nawaz to review the restrictions which was subsequently lifted on Friday, May 19.

He, alongside Khalid Nur, 20, Yaqhub Mussa, 21, Yakoub Tarafi, 18, all of Slough, and Mohammed Elgamri, 18, of Windsor are currently being held in custody.

Mr Lee was stabbed in the leg in Waterman Court, Slough. Police said he was knocked off his bike by a car in Earls Lane and attacked by a group of men who were in the vehicle.

A post-mortem examination concluded Mr Lee's cause of death was shock and haemorrhage as a result of a stab wound to his right leg.

The trial, which is expected to last three to four weeks, will mostly be an ‘identification case’ which ‘features around CCTV’.
