A viral TikTok with nearly half a million views has slammed Slough town centre for its 'tired' appearance.

Known as MC or @m.combe07, the TikToker said on first impression exiting the train station there were "a lot of good nice builds".

Having made his way to the A4 (Wellington Street) he commented how it looks "nice and clean" and was surprised at the travel links displayed on signs, including; Windsor, Eton, Maidenhead and Gerrard's Cross.

However, it was all downhill from there when MC found the Queensmere Observatory entrance on Wellington Street, signposted as 'Dukes House'.

"Is this meant to be the shopping centre?" he asked.

"Look at these alleyways I'm having to go through just to get to the town centre."

Moments later he realised that part of the shopping centre was closed.

He commented that while most places have a 'Factory Outlet' displaying 'closing down' signs, this is the "first one I have ever seen which has actually closed down".

@m.combe07 Replying to @mr.chabo08 This place is coming like a ghost town man 😭😭😭 #fyp #fypシ #viral #viralvideo #funny #relatable #slough #berkshire #thamesvalley #thames #westlondon #england #uk #ghetto #trenches #tired ♬ original sound - MC

Continuing down the street he said the Chopstix looked "tired" noting the aged and dated image displayed out front.

Noting that half the shops in the area have closed down, he said it was going off a "ghost town" atmosphere.

Finally walking into Queensmere Shopping Centre, he said: "There is not one good shop inside this shopping mall."

"Is that all this shopping mall has to offer? I think I underestimated this place - it is more tired than I thought."

"It's empty."

Back on the high street, he said: "The Poundshop is closed, Poundland is closed.

"Wilko's is smashed up.

"What is going on in Slough."

He wondered if there was hope left when finding the Observatory Shopping entrance.

"There is no hope for Slough," he said moments later.

He was shocked to see a Job Centre in a Shopping Centre.

However, he said the houses were "nice" which was how it pulls in residents.

"This is how they trick you to come into these dead areas."

The football club was MC's last stop, which he was surprised at the lack of security and being able to walk onto the pitch.

"I don't know if I'm trespassing," he added.

Summing up his visit, he said: "This area surprised me - it's tired."

Reasons to love Slough:

There is a lot more to love about Slough, including the many organisations here in the Slough community who are trying their hardest to improve the fortunes that Slough has to offer.

And they deserve our utmost thanks for persevering in the face of constant criticism.

Slough was also previously named as one of the fastest-growing commuter towns in the UK.

The Slough Trading Estate has 320 businesses with more than 10,000 people.

It also hosts a range of performing schools and an Ice Arena where Dancing On Ice stars train.
