The Sikh community came together in Slough yesterday (April 23) to celebrate the festival of Vaisakhi.
Hundreds of Slough residents are predicted to have taken part in the annual colourful procession from Sheehy Way to Woodlands Avenue.
Slough MP Tan Dhesi said: "Despite the rain, amazing to see thousands out for Vaisakhi to mark creation of the Khalsa.
"Slough is an amazing place where our diverse communities join in to volunteer and celebrate the vibrant colours of such annual celebrations."
Local families celebrated the day with music and activities from 10am.
Vaisakhi marks the first day of the month of Vaisakh and is traditionally celebrated annually on April 13 and 14 as a celebration of spring harvest primarily in Northern India.
Attendees of the event said: "Blessed day. Loved being part of this beautiful day."
Another added: "It has been a beautiful day. Extremely serene and peaceful."
Speaking at the event last year, Rapinder Singh Padda, general secretary of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Slough, said: "Vaisakhi marks a significant date in the Sikh calendar, it's a celebration of commitment to the Guru's message of social revolutions, meditation, earning honestly and sharing.”
