A stationary favourite is counting down the last few days that it will be open on the high street.

Paperchase has confirmed on its website that the last day of trading will be Monday.

A message on their website reads: “All of our stores will be closed soon, our last day of trade is 3rd April."

Earlier this year, administrators were appointed after Paperchase failed to secure any buyers for the business.

In late January, Tesco purchased the brand and intellectual property, but the deal did not include any of Paperchase’s 106 UK stores.

As a result, stores have been preparing for closure since the news, with sales seeing discounts rise from 30 per cent, up to 50 per cent as the stores sell their warehouse stock.

The Windsor branch has been seen selling all its stock, with interior shelving, footstalls and cardboard boxes included.

Paperchase products will soon be sold by Tesco.

Managing director of home and clothing at Tesco, Jan Marchant said: “Paperchase is a well-loved brand by so many, and we’re proud to bring it to Tesco stores across the UK.

“We have been building out plans to bring more brands and inspiration to the ranges we currently offer, and this will help us to take those plans further.

“We look forward to sharing more with our customers in due course.”
