An incident on the M4 left over 30 motorists with punctures after a lorry shed its load.
On Wednesday, March 8 at around 9pm National Highways reported traffic had stopped between J5 for Slough and J4B for the M25.
Upon attending the scene emergency services and traffic officers found that a metal ramp had fallen from a lorry.
Oncoming motorists suffered punctures from driving over the chunk of metal.
Videos from the scene show the chaotic aftermath as drivers veered to the hard shoulder to assess the damage.
National Highways closed two lanes while recovery teams atteneded to help the vehicles which were struck.
Shortly after midnight the road re-opened.
