A NUMBER of train services from Reading have been cancelled after a person was "hit by a train".
British Transport Police confirmed they were called to Slough station at around 7.52am following reports of a casualty on the track.
Paramedics attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Network Rail reported there are disruptions on the following services as a result of the incident:
- Elizabeth line between Reading / Maidenhead and Abbey Wood
- Great Western Railway between Swansea / Plymouth / Bristol Temple Meads / Carmarthen / Cheltenham Spa / Paignton / Taunton / Theale / Weston-super-Mare / Oxford / Didcot Parkway / Hereford and London Paddington
- Also between Windsor & Eton Central and Slough
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Slough railway station at 7.52am this morning (28 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’"
