Slough schools have been named amongst the best in the country in a new ranking.
A league table of grammar schools by Think Academy has revealed that Slough is home to three of the best schools in the UK.
Langley Grammar School has been ranked 27th and is a coed grammar school with academy status.
The school has approximately 1,013 and 261 of them are in the sixth form.
However, 70 per cent of students come from out of the area, primarily from Hillingdon.
Upton Court Grammar School has been ranked as the 64th best grammar school in the Uk with 30 per cent of A-level students securing a place at a russel group university.
Originally opened in 1912, the school originated as Slough Grammar School for Boys and Slough High School for Girls until it combined in the 1980s.
According to Ofsted Upton Court is known as a multicultural school with almost 50 per cent of its students speaking English as a second language.
Committed to its international school status, 100 per cent of students achieved a level 5 or above for GCSE Maths and English last year.
Additionally, 63 per cent of all GCSE grades awarded were levels 7-9 (old style A or A*).
Upton Court Grammar School was previously rated the best mixed grammar school in England in 2017.
Herschel Grammar School also ranked within the top 100 in the Think Academy guide, placing at number 82.
Herschel Grammar School is a coeducational grammar school with academy status which was founded in 195.
It specialises in Technology, Maths, Science and Computing.
