Slough has topped the towns and cities with the highest increase in house prices.
In a study by Atlas Ceramics, a tiling specialist, it is reported that Slough has seen a 44.75 per cent increase in house prices since 2019.
The average Slough house price in 2019 is reported to have been £239,942, rising to an average of £434,312 in 2022.
Atlas Ceramics said: "Slough is an area that is becoming much more desirable to live in. During the last three years, the average house price has almost risen by half.
"One reason Slough is becoming an increasingly attractive home destination is the number of jobs in the town, as there are more company HQs there than anywhere else outside of London."
The data coincides with that from Zoopla, that names Slough as an area which has experienced one of the biggest increases in the demand for flats.
This has been put down to the commuting distance to major cities.
The real estate company has reported a national shift of home buyers' preferences towards flats as the cost of running a home has increased and many households are crunching their numbers during the cost of living crisis.
