A trusted guide of the UK's best, most notable restaurants has listed two Berkshire eateries in their top 100.

Harden's a long-established restaurant guide for London and the UK puts together their rankings by 'carefully curating' diner feedback.

For 32 years they have been putting together their restaurant rankings, sifting through over 50,000 diner reviews. 

Each restaurant is given a rating for food, service and ambience.

The first Berkshire restaurant to make it into the top 100 is the Fat Duck in Bray which was ranked number 96 on the list.

Heston Blumenthal's restaurant which has been awarded three Michelin stars serves British and French cuisines.

With a typical price of £353 for a three-course dinner, half a bottle of wine, coffee, cover charge, service and VAT, the restaurant is open every day excluding Sunday and Monday.

The Fat Duck was rated good for food and average for service and ambience.

One reviewer said: "It's an innovative assault on the senses and gastronomy that must be experienced at least once by any discerning gourmet."

However, the general consensus was that the meals were very hit and miss, with some declaring it 'overpriced'. 

The Waterside Inn, also located in Bray is ranked number three in the UK.

It is declared to be 'the closest you can get in the UK to a rural temple of classic Gallic gastronomy' and is rated 'exceptional' across the three categories food, service and ambience.

The three Michlin star restaurants is headed by French chefs Michel and Alain Roux.

With a typical price of £226 for a three-course dinner, half a bottle of wine, coffee, cover charge, service and VAT, the restaurant is open every day excluding Sunday and Monday.

The Waterside Inn is currently closed and set to reopen on January 20.

Another two must-try restaurants in the top 100 just a stone's throw over the county border are Latymer and Le Manoir

Latymer, located in Bagshot is ranked at number 46.

At £168 average spend per person, the restaurant has been ranked 'very good' for food and ambience, and good for service.

Guests have said it is an 'interesting and enjoyable 6-course tasting menu' a 'real pleasure', and comes with 'stunning wine pairings', while 'staff are able to swap out foods without any fuss'.

Le Manoir is in Great Milton and ranked at number 16.

Rated 'exceptional' across all categories, guests can expect a spending of £269 per head at this restaurant.

Diners can expect a 'fabulous' fifteenth-century manor house with a tour around 'spectacular and peaceful' grounds and kitchen gardens.

Chefs have been complimented for their 'complete culinary precision' and 'exceptional' flavours.
