Firefighters attended a 'serious' fire on Station Road which saw plumes of grey smoke billowing into the night sky.
At 6.16pm last night (January 8) Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Services received reports of a fire at a commercial premise on Station Road in Langley.
Upon arrival, crews discovered an industrial fire involving tyres, wooden pallets and heavy goods vehicles.
Residents reported hearing explosions, with one saying 'bangs were going off like bombs'.
Firefighters from Wokingham, Mortimer, Crowthorne, Slough, Langley, Maidenhead, Windsor, London, Buckinghamshire and Wokingham Road fire stations attended the incident, where they used four main jets, a hose reel and a water shuttle to extinguish the fire.
Also on the scene were two officers and the Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station and the High Volume Pump from Bracknell.
The public were encouraged to 'avoid the area' by the fire department and Slough Borough Council.
Crews were on the scene of the incident for approximately 10 hours and 55 minutes before returning to inspect for hotspots.
