Distraught residents have hit back after a valuable plot of land has been advertised for sale as a development opportunity.
The acreage of green space behind the houses on Duke Street, Vansittart and Arthur Road in Windsor has been used as a community space for more than 150 years.
Although the land is currently advertised for sale online, Windsor neighbours have applied for the land to be granted as ‘an asset for community value’.

Lindsey Blake commented: “This green has been used and looked after by the residents for 152 years and we have always had free access to it, it is on a flood plain and currently has no vehicular access.
“Local residents use this green every day, children play on it, people exercise on it - during covid it was a life saver.”
The 1.08 acre site is advertised on Rightmove for £130,000 and is described as having possible future development potential.
The freehold green is currently vacant and cared for by the residents that frequent it daily.
