A Slough mosque has been shortlisted for a national award that recognises 'the efforts and achievements of Mosques, Madrassahs, Imams, Alimahs and volunteers'.
Al-Madani Masjid, situated in Slough, has been shortlisted for the Best Madrassah Service as part of the British Beacon Mosque Award 2022
Recognised for its outstanding work in the community, providing children with Islamic education in a fun and engaging way, representatives of the mosque will find out on November 26 if they have won the award.
The mosque has been nominated for its dynamic syllabus, designed to mould children into becoming holistic Muslims who fulfil their obligations to their Creator and acknowledge their responsibilities towards the wider community.
Judges are looking to award Mosque leaders/Madrassah teams who have supported the development and maintenance of a comprehensive learning environment for children attending a Quranic madrassah.
Chief Executive of Faith Associates and The Beacon Mosque Awards Shaukat Warraich said: “To be shortlisted for this prestigious award from amongst a very competitive category is a great honour and privilege.
"The nomination of this Mosque by the community highlights their integral part in contributing to a thriving and cohesive society.
"Their hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed and can be a beacon for other aspiring Mosques in the UK.”
