A MAN has been charged with burglary after stealing over £5,000 worth of property.
Richard Cohen, aged 37, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary at Reading Crown Court on Friday, November 11.
The court heard how Cohen climbed through a window to a property in Smithfield Road on August 1 this year.
Whilst inside the property he took various household items including electrical items of a total value of over £5,000.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Peter Hindley, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “I am pleased that Cohen has been sentenced to a significant time in prison, which will help to prevent future offending.
“The burglary Cohen committed has affected the victims beyond the value of the property stolen during this crime.”
Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison.
