Slough will be lighting up this Christmas with a light switch-on, funfair and Christmas market.
Organised by Slough Bid and Asian Star Radio, the event will take place on Saturday, November 26.
The Christmas light switch-on marks the first time Slough will be lighting up since before the pandemic in 2019.
Boasting live entertainment, the event is free for all to attend and will take place in Slough High Street, opposite Empire Cinemas from 1pm to 5pm.
Director of Slough Bid and managing director of Asian Star Radio Ray Siddique said: "It's nice to bring some Christmas cheer to the town after a long time.
"We encourage everyone to come along, it's for families, it's for young people, old people. If you are a resident of Slough we would like to invite you to come along."
The event will boast a Christmas market, Santa Clause, choir singers, dancers and a stage programmed and hosted by Asian Star Radio presenter and award-winning Dj Haashim.
A headline act is also set to make an appearance with an array of chart-topping hits.
Having sung at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, Apache Indian will be taking to the stage in Slough to headline the event before helping to light up the streets.
At 5pm on the day Apache, the Mayor of Slough and Slough's MP, alongside a selected volunteer from the public, will begin the festive season by switching on the Christmas lights.
Organisers also plan for fireworks and a snow machine to add to the ambience.
The event is just one in a series of recent events organised by Slough Bid, who are spearheading events within the area.
"It's not just about entertainment, it is about the environment, cleaning up and security, making people feel safe when they come to the shopping centre, just building that confidence back up," Ray added.
Slough BID aim is to create a festive atmosphere in Slough, promote safe shopping and promote local talent from the area.
