A SHOP that allegedly sold alcohol and nitrate oxide cannisters to minors could have its licence revoked following police probe.

The Farnham Road Off Licence in 240 Farnham Road, Slough, was reviewed by Thames Valley Police (TVP), believing the store has not done enough to prevent crime and disorder, protect children, and uphold public safety.

TVP allege they receive intelligence the supervisor is ‘knowingly’ selling alcohol and nitrate oxide cannisters and balloons to underage children. In 2018, a staff member sold alcohol to two 16-year-old female volunteers during a purchase test, the police say in their report.

Elsewhere, TVP further alleges a male employee tried to flee the premises but was stopped by Immigration and Police Officers on September 6, 2022. The report states it was confirmed the man did not have the right to work in the UK and the store owner knew of this.

On the same day, police seized cigarettes that had non-English packaging and unlabelled white pots containing shisha. Two large Nitrous Oxide canisters and three boxes of NOS cannisters were found behind the counters with small plastic bags.

TVP also claim they were unable to obtain CCTV when an alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old female happened inside the premises in November 2021.

Slough councillors sitting on the licensing sub-committee will convene on Wednesday, November 16, to decide on the premises’ fate.
