The Maidenhead Mosque and Islamic Centre has been shortlisted for the Best Run Mosque Award 2022.
Run by Beacon Mosque Standards, the award celebrates Mosque leaders 'who have shown outstanding qualities in leadership and management'.
Shortlisted Mosques have been recognised for their innovation and ability to deliver outstanding facilities that service all.
The awards will also take into account the Mosque's response to Covid-19.
Chairman of Maidenhead Mosque Saghir Ahmed was pleased to hear the news.
He said: "It's tremendous. It's great. Obviously we are doing lots of activities taking place at the Mosque.
"We are striving to serve the community the best we can and it's always welcome that we are appreciated, especially on a national stage.
"It would be good for the local community in Maidenhead to win. It would highlight all the good work we are doing within the community.
"We have a lovely community in Maidenhead and they are really supportive of the work we are doing at the Mosque."
Maidenhead Mosque was established in 1983 and has gone through numerous phases of development and progress.
The Mosque serves the Muslim community and has also developed over the years catering for all people by providing vital services and assistance.
It has now been recognised as a 'focal point' for the community, with a recent renovation opening up more space for visitors and enabling the use of additional space for classes, meetings, seminars and various events.
The Mosque also aims to provide the Maidenhead community with a range of holistic, culturally sensitive services, drawing on Islamic values and heritage, with a view to improving quality of life and enhancing cohesion.
Secretary of Maidenhead Mosque Sajid Khan said: "It is lovely to know that the community appreciate the beautiful facilities we have and the services the Mosque provide to the whole community.
"Maidenhead Mosque is grateful for the support and prayers of the community for everything we do.
"Winning the best Mosque award 2022 would be an honour as it increases the communities awareness of Mosque Services and will help other mosques and community groups to learn from the great work we do for our community."
Maidenhead Mosque campaigns proactively to promote tolerance and understanding within the community.
Public voting is now open, and people are invited to vote here.
The awards ceremony will take place on, Saturday, November 26, when the winner will be announced.
