The Wetherspoons pub in Slough has launched a bid to keep on serving customers outdoors.
Back in 2020, pubs and restaurants were allowed to put chairs and seating on pavements and pedestrian areas where they hadn’t been allowed to before.
The change was ushered in to help businesses recover and facilitate social distancing in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
It was something new for The Moon and Spoon in Slough, as it does not have a garden or enclosed outdoor area like either of the Wetherspoons in Reading.

Now, JD Wetherspoon has applied to continue serving in its outdoors at The Moon and Spoon.
A spokesperson for Wetherspoons explained: “The application is for the renewal of the existing pavement licence for the pub which is due to expire at the end of the month.
“The licence allows for six tables and 24 chairs.
“As the pub does not have an garden area of its own, the licence allows our customers to eat and drink outside which is something they enjoy.”
The licence allows customers to be served outside from 7am to 7pm all week.
The change that allowed pavements to be encroached on by businesses was made into law as part of the Business and Planning Act 2020.
