A DISABLED man from Slough has raised concern over the ‘misuse’ of disabled parking bays in a supermarket car park.
The shopper, who wished to remain anonymous, said there have been multiple occasions where he has arrived at Asda, on Telford Drive, and found he has had to wait for a disabled space as it’s being used by drivers without a blue bag.
There are roughly 20 disabled parking spaces outside the store.
He explained despite notices around the car park about the penalty charges of up to £70 the supermarket “do nothing” about it.

The man said: “It's a notice that is absolutely useless because more and more non-disabled drivers use the bays knowing full well the threat of receiving a penalty charge is non-existent.
“It is the worst supermarket for doing absolutely zilch about non-disabled drivers using these bays in Asda Slough.”
He added Asda “cannot be bothered” despite him bringing raising the issue with head office and to the store manager.
“I have had several confrontations with drivers who use these bays illegally,” he said.
“These confrontations have always happened at the time of my needing to use a disable parking bay, but other drivers are using them with many not even having a disable parking permit displayed.
“I know these bays are provided as a matter of courtesy but when the bays are misused by able bodied drivers and passengers what is the point of providing them.
“As I said the store manager just doesn't want to know.”
The man stated someone in an official capacity needs to monitor the widespread “abuse” of the parking bays.

A spokesperson for Asda said the supermarket chain closely monitors its car parks.
The spokesperson said: ''We closely monitor our car parks to ensure these spaces are kept available for the customers who need them the most.
“We would like to reassure disabled customers and those with children that there are plenty of spaces made available to them at our Slough store.
“Should a customer with additional needs require assistance they can speak to one of our colleagues who will be happy to help.’’
