McDonald’s restaurants are happy places, but occasionally something goes wrong.

Over the past year, a number of local people have committed offences at the fast-food restaurants.

Others have come from further afar to carry out crime at Berkshire Maccies.

We scoured through our court stories from the past 12 months to show you who has been sentenced for behaving badly at McDonald’s.

The man who caused a crash outside McDonald’s

A judge has jailed a man who caused a head-on collision in front of diners at a McDonald’s.

Adrian-Silviu Petrit was locked up in February after his drink driving left a fellow motorist with a fractured knee cap, a punctured lung and four broken ribs in a ‘moment of recklessness’.

The incident occurred at around 6pm on October 30, 2020 when Petrit was driving on Windsor Road near the McDonald’s restaurant.

He was caught behind a lane of stationary traffic and tried to go around it when he crashed head-on into an oncoming car.

The driver behind the wheel of the oncoming car told police he remembered slamming on the brakes but a collision could not be avoided.

He was immediately taken to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford where he underwent three operations in two weeks.

The man still walks on crutches following the incident.

His Honour Judge Nawaz sentenced Petrit to 28 months behind bars.

Petrit was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday, February 14.

The man who damaged a police car at McDonald’s

A Bucks man has again been told to stay away from McDonald’s after damaging a police car at the fast-food restaurant.

Azim Hussain, of Seven Hills Farm, Iver, damaged a Thames Valley Police car at the Windsor Road McDonald’s in Slough on June 24, 2022.

After pleading guilty to criminal damage at Slough Magistrates’ Court on June 27, 2022, the 33-year-old was told not to go back to the East Berkshire ‘Maccies’ store.

However, the 33-year-old was caught at the diner on June 29, 2022, meaning he had breached his bail conditions.

He admitted to breaching his bail conditions at Reading Magistrates’ Court on June 30, 2022.

Hussain has been remanded on bail until July 27, 2022, when he is set to be sentenced at Reading Magistrates’ Court.

Until then, he has been barred from entering the McDonald’s on Windsor Road, Slough.

The reason for this is to ‘prevent offending’, a court file indicated.

The man who groomed a teenage girl at McDonald’s

A London man has been locked up after having sex with a 13-year-old girl in multiple public places.

Daniel Powell, of Lambeth, ‘manipulated’ the girl into falling in love with him and ‘took advantage of her’, Reading Crown Court heard.

He groomed her by taking her to places including McDonald’s and on days out.

The 34-year-old met the teenager at a festival in Reading in July 2019 when the pair took selfies together at a photo booth.

They exchanged contact details and their relationship escalated in September 2019 when Powell picked up the girl in a rental car and kissed her.

He would take her to McDonald’s and on days out before one day he took her to a car park and digitally penetrated her inside his vehicle.

In October 2019, Powell took the girl to Marlow Woods where they had intercourse for the first time.

Reading Crown Court also heard how Powell digitally penetrated the girl in a public toilet and on another occasion, made her to undress at a pub table.

They continued to meet up and exchange intimate images over text until the summer of 2020, when the girl told one of her friends about her relationship with Powell.

Powell was handed a 14-year prison sentence, up to eight of which will be served in custody.

The London man was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, May 11.

The thief who used someone else’s card to buy McDonald’s

A Slough man used a stolen bank card to buy £44 worth of food at McDonald’s, a court has heard.

Michael Ruan, of Newport Road, Slough, admitted to two counts of fraud by false representation at Reading Magistrates’ Court last year.

This comes after the 42-year-old used a stolen bank card to purchase £44.17 worth of food from McDonald’s in Slough on August 29, 2020.

He was given a community order for the three offences he committed, meaning he will have to participate in up to 20 rehabilitation activity days.

Ruan was also told to pay £180 in court fees after appearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 9, 2021.

The man caught with a knife in a McDonald’s car park

A Slough man was caught with a box-cutter knife and a kitchen knife in a McDonald’s car park.

Warren Grice, of Bath Road, Slough, admitted to possession of the blades at a Slough McDonald’s on June 6, 2021.

Officers also found cocaine and heroin estimated to be valued at £650 in his car.

He admitted to possession and the intention to supply both drugs at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 7.

Appearing at Reading Crown Court on July 28, 2021, Grice was sentenced to three years and eight months in jail for two counts of possession of a blade and two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
