A CHARITY in Slough marked its special milestone with a big celebration.
Mencap, an organisation which works to improves the lives of people with a learning disability, is mark its 70th anniversary this year.
The charity, which is based on Common Road, Langley, threw a party with food, drinks and lots of decorations.
It has supported more than 80 people with learning disabilities living in Slough and surrounding areas.
Members were joined by Slough MP Tan Dhesi, who went along to mark the occasion.
Mr Dhesi said: “As a former member and advisor of the Mencap Society, I can attest to their value for our community, so please do support them by donating or volunteering.”
Mencap Slough also organises a host of activities and events through the year, which enables its members to interact and enjoy the compansionship of others.
This includes a day service, Wednesday Club, Film Club, outings and day trips and summer and Christmas parties.
Its site, which is owned by the charity, is run as a community centre.
