A 'TERRIFIED' woman tried to climb out of her window to escape her boyfriend after he locked her in their bedroom.
The woman eventually escaped Dean Welsh, of Vansittart Road, Windsor, after he fell asleep.
Today (June 9), the 28-year-old was spared prison after a court heard of his progress in rehabilitating himself.
The false imprisonment incident occurred in 2020 after Welsh and his partner had returned home from an evening out.

But “it all went wrong”, Her Honour Judge Real said, when Welsh started questioning his partner about content on her phone.
“You didn’t trust her”, the judge said, “that was your problem and that manifested itself on this occasion when you prevented her from leaving the room.
“She tried to climb out of the window and you pulled her back.
“She had to wait until you fell asleep until she could leave.
“It’s got to be scary for any person to be prevented from going to where they want to go.
“It would have been very scary for her.”

In a statement read by prosecutor Jon Sank, the woman said: “I was terrified of him during our relationship.
“I can only hope he has learned from his behaviour and he never treats anyone the way he treated me.”
Gareth James, defending, said Welsh was a “good man” who has “tried to address what he knows he is getting wrong.”
The barrister said the defendant had positively engaged with local drug and alcohol services and showed a “realistic prospect of rehabilitation.”
With this in mind, Her Honour Judge Real handed down an 18-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
Welsh will have to take part in 35 rehabilitation activity days as part of his sentence, and he has been banned from contacting his former partner for a period of five years.
The Windsor man was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, June 9.
