Commuters will be able to travel to Heathrow Terminal Four twice an hour from next week on the Elizabeth Line.
Formerly known as Crossrail, the Elizabeth Line opened partially last month to tie in with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and will be complete by May 2023.
Currently, four trains run every hour from Paddington station to Heathrow Terminals Two and three all day. Two of the four run on to Heathrow Terminal Five while the other two terminate at Heathrow Terminals Two and Three.
Terminal Four, which has been shut for over two years due to a decreased demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, is set to reopen on June 14.
The reopening of Terminal Four will free up space in Heathrow’s Terminal One, Terminal Two and Terminal Five ahead of summer peak.
When Heathrow Terminal 4 re-opens, all four Elizabeth line trains each hour will stop at Heathrow Terminals Two and Three, with two continuing to Heathrow Terminal Five and the other two to Heathrow Terminal Four.
