A CHEF is cooking up a storm as she celebrates taking over a pub kitchen in Burnham.
Marie Halkier, of Slough, who set up her own home-cooked food business, Marie’s Takeout Kitchen, is now running the kitchen at The Red Lion.
The pub, on Burnham High Street, welcomed Mrs Halkier to its premises where she’ll be whisking up many different dishes for its customers.
She said: “The response so far has been very good and people had been asking for pub grub at The Red Lion so this is what I’m providing.”

Mrs Halkier said her roast dinners on a Sunday are already popular.
Dishes include honey and mustard glazed gammon, beef, lemon and thyme roast chicken breast and rosemary infused lamb.
Having opened her takeaway business in May 2021, after being a professional arm-wrestling champion, she saw a flurry of orders come in during the pandemic.
But she explained she doesn’t get as many orders as she used to have before she moved to the pub.
Being friends with The Red Lion owner, Mrs Halkier said they decided to go ahead with the move as they had “nothing to lose”.
“It feels good to be in the pub kitchen, I have some of my family members helping me out where they can, and I do quite a bit of the prep at home,” she added.

“I’ve added dishes such as scampi, BBQ Chicken wings as well as the pub classics for customers to enjoy.”
Mrs Halkier will be serving up food on Monday to Fridays from midday until 7pm.
And roast dinners will be available on Sunday from 1pm to 6pm.
