YOU might have spotted some familiar places around Windsor and Slough in a newly released Netflix drama.

Heartstopper, a British coming-of-age romance TV series which was released this month, follows grammar school boys Charlie and Nick who discover their unlikely friendship may be something more as they navigate young love.

Starring Kit Connor, Jock Locke and award-winning actress Olivia Colman, the series was filmed at numerous locations around Burnham, Windsor and Slough in April 2021.

Viewers may have seen some of the places in the series including Windsor Riverside and Bath Island & Pleasure Ground.

Two local secondary schools, both in Slough, were also used for many scenes.

Lilly Hudson, from Berkshire Film Office, said: “We worked with RBWM Film Office to facilitate filming at Windsor Riverside and Bath Island and Pleasure Ground, which was seen in episode six."

Adding: “We worked closely with the location management team throughout filming to make sure that residents were not impacted while exterior filming took place.”

Berkshire Film Office, which was founded in 2019, added this is just one of the many productions it has helped to facilitate in Berkshire.

It comes as part of local production company, Resource Productions, to assist filming on location and in council owned buildings.

Lilly added: “We can draw on our own knowledge as locals to Berkshire as well as our extensive location database to cater for film and television whatever the size.

“We are funded by the six local governing authorities, who we have close relationships with, as we work to maintain a film-friendly county.”
