The Sainsbury's spokesperson also added they regularly review branches and the decision to close a store is “never taken lightly”.
And they confirmed shutting down stores is always based on a range of factors.
Social media rumours suggested the store could be replaced with either an Aldi or Morrisons.
But owners SEGRO isn’t revealing anything about what will be going there in its place just yet.
A spokesperson for SEGRO said they are currently “considering a number of options” but no final decisions have been made.
