1. Supermarket announces closure of Slough store later this month
A SUPERMARKET in Slough is set to close later this month.
Sainsbury's, on Farnham Road, has confirmed the closure means customers will now have to go to alternative nearby stores.
A spokesperson for Sainsbury's said: “We understand this will be an unsettling time for those affected and we’re supporting them in any way we can.
“This includes exploring alternative roles within Sainsbury’s."

2. Police confirm identity of person hit by train
BRITISH Transport Police has issued an update after a person was hit by a train earlier this week.
Emergency servicecs rushed to Norden Road on Monday, April 4, after a person died on the railway tracks.
Police have now confirmed the death of a man and his next of kin have been informed.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious.

3. Bins 'overflow' across Slough amid 'severe staffing issues'
“SEVERE staffing issues” and a broken waste lorry has left many Slough bins uncollected.
Residents took to social media to complain about their “overflowing” bins after collections across the borough were missed last week.
One local wrote: “The bins are overflowing now and also we can’t leave them outside on the pavement as people will put all sorts of rubbish in them and then the bin men won’t collect them due to that.”
Another resident said the red bins, which are allocated for recycling, have not been collected for two weeks.

4. New Ivy restaurant reveals it is opening in Spring
THE MANAGER of a new Windsor restaurant said he is “thrilled” to be opening its doors to customers this spring.
The Ivy Collection revealed earlier this year it will be open its new venue at 31 High Street, replacing the former Tower Brasserie.
And it's now promising to offer “sophisticated and friendly” all-day dining to residents and visitors.
James Chard, general manager at The Ivy Royal Windsor Brasserie, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing The Ivy Collection to Windsor."

5. New Indian cuisine opens on Burnham High Street
A NEW Indian restaurant has opened its doors to customers in Burnham.
La Indika welcomed residents to its grand opening on Saturday, April 2 for complimentary canapes to celebrate the launch.
And the new restaurant, on Burnham High Street, previously the Akash Tandoori, was even joined by special guest Hollyoaks star Will Mellor.
Owner Rohel Miah said opening weekend went very well.
He said: “We did the free canapes for customers, lots of people turned up and it was good having Will Mellor there for the opening as well."
