A NEW independent secondary school has officially opened in Langley.
Langley Hall Arts Academy, on Station Road, will be a low-cost-fee paying independent school.
Most of the pupils will come from Langley Hall Primary Academy, which opened in September 2011, and is one of the country’s first free schools.
Spaces will also be available to students from other schools who meet the entry criteria.

Many pupils at Langley Hall Primary Academy play a second or third instrument, and for years parents have asked the school to open a secondary school to enable children to continue their musical studies alongside their academic achievements.
A spokesperson for Langley Hall Arts Academy said: “At LHAA we are so excited by the remarkable experiences that our pupils will be offered during their time at the school.
“We will not only provide the academic and musical education to enable them to develop as well-rounded and successful, confident individuals but will also enrich their learning with many exciting opportunities to travel and perform all over the world.”

Links have already been made with the Purcell School of Music, The London Festival Opera, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and The Royal College of Music.
These organisations will work with the school staff to deliver masterclasses.
