Eton College has applied to remove defective cladding and replace lead on its iconic Lupton’s Tower.

The work would be undertaken on the bellcotes, which are used to house bells.

The tower did not always have bellcotes, with art of an unknown date showing the tower without bellcotes – however, they had been installed by 1852-1872, as images submitted in the application show.

Work would involve removing early 2000s cladding and replacing it with cladding in a buff stone colour. Lead will also be reinstalled on the tower.

Here, the owner of Careless Corner in Brayfield Road have applied to divide the home into two.

Careless Corner is currently a five bedroom home, and all of these bedrooms would be retained.

The existing garage would be converted and a two storey extension would be built to the rear.

Extensions and works to divide the home would allow for a new two bedroom home to be created, which would benefit from an open plan kitchen and dining room, with one of the bedrooms being ensuite and one bathroom.
