THE cost of living crisis continues to soar after an energy regulator is set to increase the maximum price of home energy bills.
Ofgem has announced the new energy bill price cap will rise by 54 per cent from April 1.
The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures (from September 2019) looks at levels of income deprivation in towns and cities across 316 local authorities.
The figures are based on the proportion of people in an area who are out of work or on low earnings.

And Slough is ranked 117th most income deprived in England.
In Slough, 12.6 per cent of the population was income deprived in 2019.
Of the 80 neighbourhoods in Slough, four of them were among the 20 per cent most income deprived in England.
This is shown in the first two bars in the chart on the top right in red.
And two neighbourhoods in the 20 per cent least income-deprived in England.
This can be seen on the last two bars of the chart in blue below:
In the least deprived neighbourhood in Slough, 4.6 per cent of people are estimated to be income deprived.

In the most deprived neighbourhood, 24.9 per cent of people are estimated to be income deprived. The gap between these two, called internal disparity, is 20.3 percentage point in Slough.
And the overall income deprivation score for Slough is 12.6 per cent.
