The offence normally attracts a compulsory driving ban and usually results in a hefty fine.
These are some of the drink drivers from Berkshire to appear in magistrates' courts across the country in December.
O'Neil Hector, 41, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex. Driving over the drink drive limit in Sackville Street, Reading, on December 4. Sentenced to prison and ordered to pay £128 in court costs. Disqualified from driving for 3 1/2 years.
Morgan Ryan, 22, of Fairford Road, Tilehurst. Caught driving over the drink drive limit in Dark Lane, Reading, on February 5. Must carry out 180 hours hours of unpaid work. Costs £795. Disqualified from driving for 24 months.
Mohammed Filali-Ansari, 38, of no fixed abode. Driving over the drink drive limit in Clarence Road, Windsor, on October 10. Fined £438. Costs £85. Disqualified from driving for 15 months.
Scott Laurie, 33, of Park Way, Newbury. Failed to provide specimen of breath for analysis in Lower Earley on April 13. Committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 24 months. Ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.00 and £85 in costs. Disqualified from driving for 3 years.
