MORE shoppers have turned to online shopping after the covid pandemic forced high street retailers to shut back in March 2020.
These local businesses have faced many challenges over the last 20 months after dealing with much uncertainty of when they can reopen.
With the run up to Christmas Day, we decided to visit Slough town centre to see what shops were still open, which wasn't a lot.

At what should be one of the busiest times of the year for high street retailers, there was hardly anyone walking around the town.
The Queensmere Observatory's two main shops Primark and TK Maxx, which are normally popular with many shoppers, were pretty much empty.
And walking around the shopping centre lots of once thriving shops now stand as unoccupied units.
A lot of shops were seen to be shut.
