BOOSTER jabs are being given out thick and fast but you’ll now be turned away at a Slough clinic if you haven’t pre-booked.

The Salt Hill Activity Centre, on Bath Road, has stopped accepting walk-ins after being indunated with demand.

It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation on Sunday to say everyone over 18 in England 'will have the chance to get their booster before the new year'.

Until yesterday, the Slough vaccination hub was allowing people to turn up for their boosters without booking first.

When this newspaper visited the site, queues stretched around the building outside while the car park was at full capacity.

More than 40 per cent of UK adults have already had a covid booster jab, according to figures.

In Slough, 24.7 per cent of residents have had theirs, totalling at 35,865 people so far.

The Salt Hill Activity Centre, on Bath Road, Slough, was transformed into a vaccination clinic in the borough to help with the covid vaccine roll out.

And until today, it was accepting walk-ins for those who needed to get their next dose.

On Tuesday, queues for the Salt Hill car park tailed back to the SMC Ford garage along Bath Road.

And a long line of people were also stood outside the centre as they waited to be seen for their appointment.
