A MAN was fined almost £1,000 for not wearing a face mask on public transport.
Cristain Vergea, 22, of Snape Spur, Slough was caught not wearing a face covering inside Wembley Park Station.
Vergea appeared in Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on October 11 and was fined £660, a surcharge of £66 to fund victim services, and had to pay £225 in costs totalling to £951.

He was caught not wearing a mask in May 2021, a time when wearing face masks was a legal requirement before restrictions eased in June.
As of tomorrow (November 30) face coverings will become mandatory again in shops and on public transport in England as part of measures to target the new Omicron coronavirus variant.

Boris Johnson said the measures will be "temporary and precautionary".
