The face of a Maidenhead drug dealer who was caught with £100,000-worth of illegal substances has been revealed by police.

Mohammed Asif, 22, was locked up for four years and 10 months after he was caught trying to escape to Turkey at Heathrow Airport.

In June, police found £98,000-worth of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis in a flat in Woodlands Park, Maidenhead – which Asif had run away from just moments earlier.

Unfortunately for Asif, who is from High Wycombe, officers arrested him at Heathrow a few days later, just as he was about to board a flight to Istanbul.

At Reading Crown Court on Friday, Asif was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to three charges of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and one count of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Prosecutor Nick Saunders accused Asif of having a “leading role” in local drugs operations due to the vast amount of substances he had in his possession.

However, Asif’s barrister Matthew Pardue argued that the leader of a drug enterprise would not be seen “selling drugs out of his car window” – something Asif did, according to witnesses.

After consideration, Recorder Stuart Ritchie found that Asif had a “significant” rather than “leading” role in the drug operation.

He added that Asif aggravated the situation by exploiting a vulnerable man and using his flat in Maidenhead, to store the drugs.

Recorder Ritchie said: “There was an expectation of significant financial advantage. I have seen evidence of you celebrating with substantial amounts of cash.

“It was quite clear you had an understanding of the scale of the operation.”

Asif was given a total sentence of four years and 10 months, but could be released on licence halfway through that term.
